New, compact test system for automotive ECUs

In-vehicle network testing and function test in one system

MagicCAR compact is the latest generation of scalable test environments from GOEPEL electronic. The compact desktop unit is flexibly expandable and can be used for testing and validation during the development of automotive ECUs.

The powerful desktop test environment combines in-vehicle network testing and functional testing in a single device. Extended with image processing components, infotainment tests for quality assurance can also be covered. The MagicCAR Compact Net version combines all necessary resources for an automotive networking test, e.g. CAN-FD or FlexRay-Conformance. The system has a programmable power supply with switchable terminal signals and integrated current measurement. All common bus protocols are supported, e.g. CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet. In combination with bus trigger/interference modules, extensive interface tests can be mapped. MagicCAR Compact is based on an internal Ethernet architecture and can be expanded by external, Ethernet-capable devices, e.g. oscilloscopes or generators. In addition, a complete infotainment test can be implemented with the vehicle-relevant media interfaces MOST, LVDS or APIX I/II/III (VideoDragon) or a camera solution (TOM).

The test case management software and pre-configured test step libraries make the instrument immediately ready for use. Operators with an existing program generator license can integrate the MagicCar compact into their test environment by means of an appropriate update. Alternatively, the test system can be addressed for system integrators via an API (for C and LabVIEW).
