The VarioTAP IP technology has been extended to the RH850/F1K model from Renesas. The technology enables the use of the various controller modules via the debug interface. This allows the various functions of the modules to be used for test programs. This makes the controller itself a test and programming instrument.
After selecting the controller model, the connected hardware units can be tested and validated, the internal Flash memory can be programmed. External RAM connection tests and access to external flash devices can be developed on request.
The RH850/F1 generation is part of Renesas' 32-bit line. The microcontrollers are characterized by high performance at very low power consumption and were mainly developed for automotive applications.
