Alfa Test and GÖPEL electronic enter into partnership for boundary scan solutions

Innovative embedded JTAG systems for electronics manufacturing in Romania and the Balkan region

Romanian system integrator Alfa Test and German manufacturer GÖPEL electronic have entered into a partnership for the joint delivery of boundary scan solutions. The background to this is the growing demand for contactless electrical test methods based on chip-embedded instruments among manufacturing companies in Southeast Europe. Many well-known European electronics manufacturers have their production facilities here, with ever-increasing integration density and increasingly complex PCBA. Together, the providers now want to offer powerful and integrated test solutions that are tailored to customer requirements.

The boundary scan test procedure offers the advantage of rapid failure detection in electronics manufacturing without direct physical access to the components, which translates into shorter test times, high test coverage and ultimately lower costs. This is why this test procedure is being used more and more in electronics manufacturing and is being perfected. GÖPEL electronic has developed a complete ecosystem of embedded JTAG technologies for dynamic testing and high-speed flash programming to complement this. Romania is one of the most important manufacturing locations for European electronics manufacturers. As a result, the demand for fast, modern test solutions is very high here. Alfa Test, headquartered in Romania with a branch in Serbia, has been one of the leading providers of production testing for electronics for more than 20 years. The partnership with GÖPEL electronic now ideally complements this offering.

The high demand for German embedded JTAG products – especially in combination with flying probe and in-circuit tests – now forms the basis of the new partnership: "As the only company in the region that can offer complete solutions for inspection and test phases, we rely on high-performance boundary scan solutions. With GÖPEL electronic, we have now gained one of the leading European providers in this field as a partner," says Marius Toader, founder and managing director of Alfa Test. “The Southeast European market offers great potential for us because many manufacturers there are increasingly upgrading their test strategies to include embedded tests at the board and chip level, and demand for our powerful, highly integrated boundary scan test solutions is growing,” adds Thomas Wenzel, co-founder and managing director of GÖPEL electronic. “With Alfa Test as a regional partner with excellent expertise, we are now ideally positioned to meet this demand.”
