The introduction of new technologies such as Boundary Scan always requires the gain of necessary knowledge in theory and practice. In addition to the respective [seminars], GOEPEL electronic also provides demonstration boards and kits for autodidactic practical training.

goJTAG Demo Kit

The goJTAG Demo Kit was developed for an easy entry in the technology of Boundary Scan.

The kit consists of the goJTAG software (WINDOWS XP, VISTA 32 bit), PicoTAP controller with USB cable and the goJTAG Demo Board.

The trainer board features the following components:

2 Boundary Scan devices (buffer, PLD)
Failure switches
Push button
Serial Flash
RAM
LED

VarioTAP Coach-ARM

: VarioTAP Coach-ARM

VarioTAP Coach is suitable for both beginners and advanced users in industry, research and education.

It was developed as an evaluation kit for the demonstration of merged Boundary Scan applications and JTAG emulation tests.

The board provides several interfaces like CAN, USB, RS232, I2C, parallel digital I/O and Audio. Furthermore, it enables the practical trial of a multitude of different JTAG/Boundary Scan applications.

Execution of Boundary Scan test operations, dynamic emulation tests for memories, bus devices, and peripheral interfaces

The following components are integrated on the board: ARM-µP (STR710), FPGA, I2C Flash, NOR flash, NAND flash, RAM.

In addition to the demonstration of the functional principle of the VarioTAP IP, the application of VarioCORE IP for the flexible debug and test instrumentation on the basis of dynamic FPGA reconfiguration can be evaluated.

Scan Coach Board

: Scan Coach Board

The Scan Coach board has been designed especially for beginners and shows how to overcome typical traps during JTAG/Boundary Scan test and programming development. It features following components, 2 JTAG/Boundary Scan devices, FLASH, SDRAM, buffers, simple logic as well as edge connectors, LEDs, a 7 segment display and failure switches.

Scan Coach Kit/USB

The Scan Coach Kit/USB is a complete solution to get in-depth knowledge of the JTAG/Boundary Scan technique. It consists of a special version of [CASCON GALAXY^®], a [PicoTAP] as JTAG/Boundary Scan controller and the Scan Coach board.
A tutorial is available, describing in detail how to develop different JTAG/Boundary Scan test programs and how to overcome typical problems. Besides, it provides an introduction into the GOEPEL electronic’s JTAG/Boundary Scan test system and information for both JTAG/Boundary Scan circuit design and different programming techniques.

All required components, such as software, JTAG/Boundary Scan controller, Scan Coach board, test bus cable, example programs and descriptions are supplied with the kit. Only a PC with parallel interface is required. The PicoTAP is connected to the UUT by a 10pin flat cable which powers the Scan Coach board.
