OptiCon AdvancedLine X30/X45/X60

OptiCon AdvancedLine

In-line AOI system with flexible integration opportunities into manufacturing lines as well as stand-alone solutions with automatic loading and sorting options.

Extended Optical Resolution - 01005

The camera concept

AOI Camera

Main camera

Extended Colour TechnologyThe one- or four* MegaPixel camera enables high-contrast gray value capturing as well as high resolution colour images based on the Extended Colour Technology™. For production applications, the selection of a four MegaPixel camera allows up to 2.5 times higher test speed compared to a one MegaPixel camera at identical pixel resolution.

Add-on Camera* and LASER Height Measurement System*

For an extension in fault coverage an additional camera and a high-resolution LASER height measurement system can be integrated into the OptiCon systems for one of the following test tasks respectively...

* Four MegaPixel camera, add-on camera and LASER height measurement system are available for OptiCon AdvancedLine and OptiCon BasicLine only

Angled-view module Chameleon

Angled-view module Chameleon is available in addition to the main camera.

The lens concept

aoi lens concept

The main camera‘s telecentric lens enables an image of components and solder joints regardless of their position in the fi eld of view or their height extension without any distortion or parallax error. Equal resolution and image quality guarantees a 100% compatibility between one- and four* MegaPixel cameras.

*Four MegaPixel camera is available for OptiCon AdvancedLine and OptiCon BasicLine only

Illumination concept

The flexible illumination concept is part of the standard equipment of all OptiCon systems, regardless whether it is a stand-alone or in-line system with one- or four MegaPixel camera. The powerful concept consists of three basic modules with different illumination types. Dependent on the respective test task, they guarantee images with best possible contrast in every situation.

Multicoloured TopFlash illumination enables a homogeneous lighting of the inspection fi eld as well as a high contrast of coloured signs (e.g. polarity marking).

Flexible QuattroFlash illumination with selectable illumination directions guarantees the elimination of interfering effects of solder resist, flux and tracks as well as a high-contrast of LASER engraved labelling.

The innovative MetaFlash™ illumination provides a gain in contrast of pads and components in relation to their background. This effect enables a safe and accurate detection of structures (e.g. fiducial marks) also for diffi cult surfaces.

Flash@MotionThe time optimised image capturing according to the needed illumination type and its parameters is carried out by a control module based on the Flash@Motion™-technology developed by GÖPEL electronic.

Polarity Recognition:
Optimised representation of polarity markings by multi-coloured TopFlash illumination.

OCR and LASER Labelling:
High-contrast of LASER labelling using QuattroFlash illumination for reliable Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

Short Check:
Safe detection of smallest shorts and solder balls as well as elimination of interfering reflections by angle dependent illumination control.

Colour Verification:
Powerful functions for colour inspection enable the recognition of device colours as well as the verification of colour codes on components.

OptiCon PILOT – a well-balanced Software Concept

OptiCon PILOT

The OptiCon PILOT software provides powerful functions for component recognition, solder joint and short inspection, OCR, colour verification as well as solder paste inspection.

In addition to the intelligent component recognition based on automated characteristic extraction from real images, the solder joint quality is determined by a complex grey value analysis using a range of illumination types.

Library Structure of the OptiCon Systems

For automatic test program generation a flexible import module for numerous placement data, gerber data and CAD formats is available.

Generated test programs and library entries can be transferred to various systems and used independently from component position or PCB background with constantly high inspection quality.

OptiCon PILOT – reliable Integration within a Company-specific Production Process

integration in production process

The powerful modules of the OptiCon PILOT software enable an efficient integration of the AOI systems into company-specific production and quality assurance processes.

The repair station software offers convenient handling in the in-line process for fault verification as well as for offline repair by means of a coloured display of the detected faults and overview image. Additionally, it allows a program optimisation during the current production process.

Extensive statistic evaluations with numerous filter settings enable the fast detection of main faults as well as an objective evaluation of production quality and throughput.

In addition to test program generation, the offline programming software allows the program optimisation inclusive adaptation of illumination settings without affecting the test throughput at the AOI system.

The SPC module (statistic process control) enables an effective optimisation of the production process of mounted PCBs. Warning limits and action limits can be defined for selected component parameters.
Trend analyses allow anticipatory acting before a fault occurs.

Reference-Database

Reference database

The integrated reference database guarantees safe and documented fault detection at optimised false call rate. It enables the storage of previously detected faults and their verification after test program modifications. In case of inconsistent results after a program check, all corresponding parameters will be displayed. Likewise, the reference database serves as storage for PASS examples to ensure the stability of optimised test programs.
