Intelligent Inspection System for selective Solder Joints features new Camera
GOEPEL electronic offers a new internally developed camera and illumination system for optical inspection of selective solder joints to be integrated into external test cells.GOEPEL electronic offers a new internally developed camera and illumination system for optical inspection of selective solder joints to be integrated into external test cells. The integration package contains a specifically designed 4 Megapixel camera named BUZZARD, an optimised illumination, a PC and respective software. Consequently, GOEPEL electronic is the only vendor worldwide offering such a hardware and software package. The camera and illumination system concept, which has successfully been utilized in GOEPEL electronic’s OptiCon AOI systems for mounted PCBs, can be configured to the specific optical test demands of each inspection system.
The 4 Megapixel camera BUZZARD with integrated Power PC provides excellent 10.5 µm resolution images, and can be utilised for image pre-processing, e.g. equalization, shading corrections, filter functions or image composition. Another highlight is the multispectral illumination with PWM controller, covering a lighting segment from UV to IR. It is able to check hard to inspect solder joints or components.
Integral part of the integration package is the easy-to-use TOM Line software for industrial applications. It features an extensive range of test functions, for example to evaluate THT solder joints, shorts or solder splashes. The software can be operated and controlled by means of a remote interface, e.g. for implementing control functions from a PLC.
This integration package consists nearly completely of components developed and produced in GOEPEL electronic’s facilities. The BUZZARD camera is the first in a series of new internally developed camera systems with various resolutions.
