Cost effective PXI model added to LIN Interface Module Range

Offering a cost effective entry-level module, GOEPEL electronic has expanded the range of its LIN communication controllers for testing electronic control units (ECU). Currently, the PXI 3078 module is offered exclusively with a PXI interface and provides two LIN bus or K-Line interfaces. LIN specifications 1.3, 2.0 and 2.1 are supported.
The bus communication includes all LIN-typical message types and diagnosis services like e.g. event triggered frames, sporadic frames, unconditional frames and diagnostic frames. Configured as K-Line interface, the module supports the diagnosis protocols KWP 2000, KWP 1281 and ISO 9141 (Ford) as well as generation of arbitrary telegrams. Optionally, extended command sets such as stimuli/response runs, ramps or table functions are available as software add-on modules.
Users will benefit from a complete galvanic insulation between LIN bus / K-Line interface and host interface, which prevents the occurrence of compensating current between test system and unit-under-test (UUT) supply. Therefore, the module is perfectly applicable for system tests directly at the vehicle electrical system. Another new feature supporting the module’s application purpose is the supply of the transceivers is switchable via software - either internally (functional test of single control units) or externally via LIN bus (e.g. system tests at the vehicle’s network). The bus termination for master or slave operations can also be switched on/off via software.
Due to pluggable bus transceivers the module can be adapted to project specific hardware requirements by the user. Bus transceivers are available for all common LIN transceiver types.
Libraries of the onboard software support the user programme generation for PXI 3078. A convenient application programming interface (API) as well as the driver support for PXI 3078 is available under Windows® 7, XP or LabVIEW® RT. Users of the graphical programming environment LabVIEW® can benefit from complete virtual instruments (VI), which support the entire range of functions of the module.
