    1991

    • GÖPEL electronic is founded as spin-off of a large opto-electronics company
    • Launch of the first product, the Boundary Scan system MFC 1149.1/ CASCON

    1992

    • Set-up of the business unit Digital Image Processing, today AOI Systems

    1993

    • Number of employees is 21
    • Development of first customized test systems on VXI-basis

    1994

    • Introduction of the first own VXI product, SCAN COMMANDER™ VXI, at the European Test Conference in Paris

    1995

     

    • Move to the new company building in Jena-Göschwitz

    1996

    • Opening of a sales office in Munich
    • Launch of the AOI system OptiCon
    • First certification of our quality management system according to ISO 9001

    1997

    • Annual turnover: DEM 7.5 Mio

    1998

     

    • Opening of a subsidiary in the USA
    • Introduction of the world's first PXI Boundary Scan controllers in Austin, Texas
    • Launch of a high speed OptiCon system
    • Introduction of the first compact tester for Boundary Scan applications, SCANTURY®2050, at electronica in Munich

    1999

    • Introduction of an automotive test system based on PXI
    • New generation OptiCon system with a new design and additional features introduced at Productronica in Munich

    2000

    • Extension of the distribution network for Egypt, South Africa, Korea, Greece, Singapore and India
    • Opening of another sales office in Hamburg

    2001

     

    • Celebration of the company's 10th anniversary in May
    • Opening of a sales office in Giessen and moving of the southern sales office to Heidelberg
    • Launch of SYSTEM CASCON/ POLARIS 4.0
    • Launch of OptiCon AdvancedLine and OptiCon Paste Inspector

     

    2002

     

    • Construction of another company building started in spring
    • First system for testing network attributes in automotive cotrolling units

    2003

     GÖPEL electronic GmbH, Jena

    • We opened our new company building

    2004

    • Extension of the distribution network by new Centres of Expertise
    • Introduction of path-breaking innovations such as the Multi Bus Module PXI 3080 or OptiCon AdvancedLine 4M
    • New annual turnover record of 11.5 Mio Euro

    2005

     OptiCon AdvancedLine

    • Market launch of the new JTAG/Boundary Scan hardware generation SCANFLEX®
    • Introduction of new AOI platform
    • Development of first PXI controller for FlexRay

    2006

     VarioCore

    • Opening of a subsidiary in UK
    • Introduction of the revolutionary VarioCore® technology within the frame of SCANFLEX®
    • JTAG/Boundary Scan and Automotive Test modules supporting new bus systems such as PXI Express and PCI Express
    • New annual turnover record with more than 16 million Euro (20 million Dollar)
