basicCAN and USB 3052 have been developed to provide CAN interfaces for the interchange of messages in a CAN network. The CAN module’s goal is that each CAN interface has its own micro controller. Therefore, it is possible to generate real timings at CAN messages. Both modules are built modularly and realize two to four CAN interfaces. To ensure a high flexibility, the transceivers on the board are arranged as SIMM modules. For high speed transceivers there is a terminating resistor of 120 Ohm on the board, which can easily be switched to the CAN signals via a jumper at every time.
